CreatorUp Announces Summer Accelerator Programs For Creators

Posted on: by Grace M

CreatorUp is excited to announce the launch of an accelerator program to help creators make awesome new projects. We will be partnering with Zooppa and New Filmmakers LA for the summer, giving creators new exciting opportunities to get their content and name out there!

Creators have the chance to choose one of two tracks. The commercial track will be the opportunity to create branded content video for a brand, and the independent track will be the opportunity to create a branded content video about their own city.

Over the course of 4 weeks, a weekly evening workshop will be taught by CreatorUp to help guide creators in the filmmaking process, as well as providing the support and materials needed. Each week focuses on a different stage:

Week 1 – Stage 1: Pre-Production
Week 2 – Stage 2: Production
Week 3 – Stage 3: Post-Production
Week 4 – Stage 4: Screen, Recut & Final Screening

Creators will not be alone in the process. The program comes with:

  • Support, training, mentorship
  • Space, equipment, help
  • Screening with industry feedback from industry & agency executives

Top projects will be eligible for an exclusive project award, and top creators will be eligible for talent agency & management referrals.

CreatorUp is also teaming up with New Filmmakers LA for creators who are looking more to get their name out there, as well as showing off their own personal content.

The project is called On Location: The Lost Angeles Video Project. Filmmakers will be asked to create a short story, whether it is a narrative, documentary, commercial, or even an animated film, that positively showcases the city of Los Angeles. Think of it as a way to show off the beauty of the city to the rest of the world, but doing so through one’s own eyes.

There are two categories based on time:

  • 2-5 minutes
  • 2 minutes or less

The Grand Prize Winner will receive a Production Prize Package, valued at $40,000, from Alternative Rentals as well as $1000. Two first prize winners will receive $500 per category, as well as as separate Audience Choice Awards of $250 and various sponsorship prizes.

Entries will be screened on October 10th, 2015 at the Hollywood Center Studios, with press, a reception, and an after-party.

Now is your chance to break into the world of branded content, while also stretching out your creative abilities! Don’t miss this opportunity to not only learn, but get your content out there.
