How To Create a Fundraising Video – Live Lab in LA

CreatorUp is excited to team up with our teacher Steph Belsky of Lucid, a video content consultancy, to bring up to ten non-profits in the Los Angeles area an opportunity to get free hands on help making a fundraising video that will help them meet their annual fundraising goal. Here’s why we’re offering the scholarships for the workshop, what it is, and how it works.

The purpose of the live pop up video-shop is to give all non-profits that access to the knowledge and tools they need to make great videos. Non-profits will learn:
• Skills to produce self-sustainable content creation
• How to convey the story of the organization effectively
• The perks/benefits of the YouTube Nonprofit program

The series of events will empower nonprofits to share their story and their accomplishments in a fun, open, and highly effective learning environment.

How it works:
o Non-profits apply and 10 will will be selected based on:
o In-house staff/volunteer that will be accessible over the course of the program
o Local to Los Angeles and Southern California
o Interest in participation and final product for use on their website, fundraising campaigns, annual gala, etc.
o Limited video experience to show the most impact

Who can participate?
• Any Non-profit in Southern California that meets the criteria above.

How does it work?
• The pilot program will take place over the course of 1 – 3 weeks (timing is TBD) and is meant to complement the CreatorUp series: Fundraising Videos for Nonprofits & DIY Production.

What’s the timeline for the program?
Tentative 3 month timeline is as follows.

October 1st: Application Period.

October 7th – 14th: participating nonprofits selected -Google Hangout

October 21st – 27th: Participants watch Fundraising Video course

October 28th – November 3rd: Fundraising video course
November 9th – LIVE VIDEO POP UP SHOP #1

November 10th – 15th: Watch DIY Production course
November 16th – LIVE VIDEO POP UP SHOP #2 (sound/lighting/performance)

November 23rd – LIVE VIDEO POP UP SHOP #3 (editing)
December 2nd – 9th: Post workshop Hangout, final edits, screening & PARTY!!!!

What will non-profits get out of it?
o Video training and completed videos
o Feedback from partners
o Donations before & after video strategy implementation
o Video views and channel growth
o Traffic to website
